The #1 Question I get asked about NBR

Updated: Nov 10, 2019

The number one question I get asked about NBR is.. what is NBR?

NBR is short for Natural Beaded Rows. It's an installation method used for installing hair extensions.

Here, I'm wearing 2 Rows of Natural Beaded Rows Extensions with hand-tied hair.

The creator of NBR, Danielle K. White, was searching for a method of extensions to wear for herself that looked more natural, that wasn't so damaging to her hair, that she could wear up in a ponytail, and go out when it's windy without the fear of her extensions showing. In searching for a method to achieve these things, she tried every method out there. Because she wasn't able to find one that accomplished all these things she started experimenting on her own hair and came up with Natural Beaded Rows.

NBR is a method where tracks are placed in rows in your hair with beads and string. The hair isn't pulled all the way through the bead which helps with less drag. It doesn't pull on the natural hair and also stays in better with less slip. (It's extremely important to have clean sections and the correct tension on each bead to protect the integrity of your natural hair and your scalp.) Wefts are then placed on the track and sewn on the string and your hair grows out naturally on your track. This makes the removal process very quick and easy and significantly minimizes damage. One more characteristic of NBR is that the rows are placed in a slight horseshoe shape which allows for more fullness in the front sides of your hair and makes wearing your hair up so much better because it flows back naturally while flat against your head. No bulky areas!

Almost anyone can wear NBR extensions and you can customize them to any length. So, you don't have to have mermaid hair if ya don't want to. You may just want to add fullness to your lob so you can have an amazing looking ponytail or so that you can have your curls last all day long... Or, maybe you DO want that mermaid hair! Whatever your desire, you'll have a fully customized experience.

You're a good fit for NBR if your hair is to your shoulders and your bangs are to your cheekbones. There are exceptions to this, so reach out if you are unsure if you're a good fit.

You may not be a good fit if your hair is over-processed and brittle, but there is hope, I can put you on a healthy hair re-building regime and over time you too can wear NBR extensions.
